AWANA is a non-denominational children’s club program focused on teaching core Biblical truths through scripture memory. And it’s FUN! Join us Sunday Nights @ 6:00pm!
We offer three clubs:
Cubbies: for preschoolers one and two years prior to Kindergarten. This program plants seeds of faith in young minds concerning God, Jesus Christ, and the Bible.
Sparks: for children Kindergarten through second grade. Sparks are introduced to Bible Characters and events, and learn why they are important. This material focuses on helping Children learn to know God and His Son.
Truth & Training (T&T): for children in third through sixth grade. This program uses a question a question and answer format with answers backed up by a Scripture. Students learn that the Bible is true and they can firmly put their trust in God’s Word.
What is Awana?
Awana is a acronym which stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. It is non-denomination children’s program that is a fun way to learn about God and His Word, the Bible. The clubs are run by trained leaders with a love for the Lord Jesus Christ and desire to help children.
How does my child join the Awana club?
A child joins by registering and coming to club meetings! They officially become members by completing the workin in an “entrance booklet.”
How much does it cost to join Awana club?
Our church has graciously agreed to pay for all the materials except for the children’s uniform shirts or vests. These range in price from $10.00 to $12.95. We realize that even this amount may be difficult for some families, and if so, we can make arrangements to provide this as well.
What should my child bring to Awana club each night?
The children should bring a bible, if they have one, and any materials given to them at club.
What do children do at Awana?
Each club meeting has three segments.
- Game Time: Individual and team competition takes place through circle games exclusive to Awana and playground favorites. Every child is involved and has a chance to unleash his or her energy.
- Handwork: Team competition continues as kids work one on one with a trained leader to complete assignments in the curriculum materials. Awana emphasizes memorization and understnading of key Bible verses that show how to know God and walk with Him. A series of awards and trophies reward achievements at every level as kids progress.
- Council Time: Everyone gathers together for singing and a practical Bible message.
- Closing Time: At this time, everyone gathers in the sanctuary for individual award distribution and announcements. We also announce the winning team for the night at this time.
What awards do the children earn?
Children earn various awards depending on which club they are in. Most of the awards are earned by completing sections of work in their handbooks.
Awards are also earned for club attendance and Sunday school attendance.
